LPLookup Plainly

About Lookup Plainly

Lookup Plainly is an independent informational publisher operated by SaasAppify LLC.

Lookup Plainly publishes plain-English guides about phone number lookup, reverse phone lookup, unknown callers, spam calls, FCRA limits, data broker opt-outs, and related privacy topics.

Our goal is to help everyday readers understand how public-record lookup tools work, what information they can realistically surface, and what federal and state rules govern their use. We write with a limits-first tone: no jargon, no overpromising, and no personalized legal guidance.

What we publish

  • Phone lookup and caller safety guides
  • Plain-English FCRA boundary explanations
  • Data broker opt-out walkthroughs when published
  • Lookup-related privacy education

What Lookup Plainly is not

There are a few things Lookup Plainly is not, and we think it is important to say them plainly:

We are not a Consumer Reporting Agency. Lookup Plainly does not compile consumer reports, does not provide information for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and does not operate as a CRA under that law.

We are not a law firm and do not provide personalized legal advice. Our guides explain general concepts and publicly available information. If you have a specific legal question, please consult a licensed attorney.

We are not a government agency. Lookup Plainly has no affiliation with any government body, law enforcement agency, or regulatory authority.

We are not a people-search service. We do not operate a database of personal records and do not search for individuals on your behalf.

We cannot contact data brokers for you. If you want to request removal from a people-search directory or data broker, you will need to follow that company's opt-out process directly. Lookup Plainly can explain how those processes generally work, but we cannot submit requests on your behalf or confirm whether a removal request was completed.

How we approach editorial work

We take a cautious approach to the topics we cover. Phone lookup and privacy are areas where bad information can cause real harm through unrealistic expectations, misuse of lookup tools, or confusion about legal rights.

  • Prefer official, regulator, and vendor sources where possible
  • Separate what a lookup tool may surface from what it is legally permitted to be used for
  • Update or correct content when we find errors or when information changes
  • Disclose commercial relationships clearly when they exist

You can read more in our Editorial Policy.
